Well had to take a little break – but glad to say I’m back and have started rehearsing again – also with a new line up, which will be announced soon – though still of few of my Soul City Foundation family are on board. I also had to shelve all live plans for this summer, but hope to be performing live again in the autumn/fall – Thanks for the love and soulful support
The album was recorded on both sides of the Atlantic, with the final production and mixing at Puzzle Maker Studios in Bristol. It features not only top class musicians, but amazing gospel singers and choirs, a touch of Soul II Soul and even a little bit of Blondie. The ten track album features eight original tracks, along with two cover versions from Kem (Love Calls) and Lynden David Hall (Do I Qualify).
My first ever visit to Scotland and after a wonderful time in Edinburgh at the festival, I had the honour to perform at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony at the Forthbank Stadium in Stirling on Thursday 9th August. I performed a revamped 2018 version of “Living Our Dream” – remixed by Puzzle Maker Studio’s Andrea Succi and also the new single “Night Train”,in front of over 6,000 people and it was amazing !! Also performing on the line up was Max Murphy (The Voice), the wonderful Horse McDonald and none other that the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. What made it perfect was the fact my buddy Gail Porter co presented too !! Love meeting the athletes and the families and very proud to be involved and invited !!
I’m so excited to be working on the final album mixes with producer Andrea Succi at Puzzlemaker studios in Bristol and hope that the album will be released in July 2018.
I’m so happy to tell you all that the album “Blue Eyed Soul”, which has been in making over the past 5 years, has been finished. The last few vocals additions, by the stunning Gospel singer Alice Cann, were made at Puzzlemaker Studios in Bristol a few weeks back and now it’s down to the wizardry of the producer Andrea Succi, to mix and hopefully, all being well, it should be out in June. I’ve had so many people involved and although it’s seem to have taken FOREVER, I am so happy with the end result.
Thank to all involved and for making my dreams come true…………………….
I’m so happy, despite the arctic conditions, to be back in New York to promote my new single and forthcoming album and will be appearing for the third time on Friday 5th January on the Ginger NY chat show. I first met the host Ginger Broderick, whilst recording an off broadway cast CD in 2015 and since then have become good friends, so am always happy to be on the her show. I also met Clayton Bryant that day, who features on “Blue Eyed Soul” and who has performed with the very best in the musical world – so yeah New York feels right for me right now !
The new single Sweet Soul Music is finally out and available to download and will also be realised on CD next month. Already getting great views, the radio edit was recorded in both Puzzlemaker Studios in Bristol and Sweet Sound Studios in the heart of Manhattan. Its soulful almost classic style, features the amazing Clayton Bryant on backing vocals. Clayton has performed and recorded with the very best including Luther Vandross, Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen and many more ad its such an honour to have him onboard. In the coming weeks, Sweet Soul Music will also feature on a remix EP – a collaboration wth Prince’s original DJ Larry Peace – again such an honor and the remix EP will also feature mixes of Feels Like The First Time and the Special Olympics Anthem “Living Our Dream.
July see’s the re-release of the track, originally recorded in NYC few years back with MTV Producer Chi Salaam. As well as the radio edit, there is the Teardrop Mix – a moody trance style vibe, mixed by co writer Jon Birch. sultry on TRL Records. TRL Records are a new independent label, who I am privileged to be part of, alongside an amazing Brazilian artist Thiago Colombo
