The annual concert full of festive funkiness at Chapel Arts is selling well and sure to be a sell out again and this year will consist of lots of new songs and even new members. The show is on Sunday 13th December 2015 and will feature not only special guests and support from the Harlem Rythym Cat’s, but two new members joining the Soul City Foundation for the first time – on drums the rather amazing Clint Cabral and the beautiful backing vocals of Becky Lawrence.
At last the live rehearsals and gigs are on hold for a while, as I finally get into the studio to start the new album. It will start at Flash’s House of Sound in Bath UK and end up finishing off in Manhattan with a suprise Grammy Award winning producer. I am recording 16 tracks, of which 12 will be on the album. The tracks will include two cover versions, being of Lynden David Hall’s “Do I Qualify” and Kem’s “Love Call’s, with the rest all co written with my resident songwriter and buddy Jon Birch and will be an album of soul funk vibes with that blue eyed jazz vibe. I will be using all of my amazing musicians, who have worked with me over the past 3 years, along with a few guest vocalist and rappers from the NYC. I hope – and I say hope it will be done now by end of September………….it takes time – watch the site for updates
Honoured to be asked to perform at the Olympic Park in London on Saturday 7th February. Will be my first performance in London for over 10 years. Probably be a much smaller line up than the last gig – but will still be funkified.
Come and say hi !! The event is for the Special Olympics and their Polar Plunge fund raising event – It’s the family
Clyve and the band had the honour and privelege to perform at the Olympic Park in London as part of the Special Olympics Polar Plunge event on Saturday 7th February. Playing several sets with the new slim line 6 piece line up and also performing the anthem “Living Our Dream” with the Pandemonium Drummers, who were part of the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. Clyve is now hoping to be chosen to perform in Los Angeles at the World Games in July, alongside a star studded line up.
Great fun in the studio on the Lower East Side, alongside some great artists such as Esjae and the amazing Clayton Bryant (See cast pic below) – Featured in the ensemble recording of the Off Broadway Production cast recording of Sam Shepherd’s “The Eyes Of Consuella”, along with additional tracks such as “The Storyteller” and “Ballad Of Clint Balou” – Funny how things happen, as not in my schedule or genre. All under the direction of Joe Gianono (Broadway Composer/Arranger) and the Grammy Award winning engineer Alex Venguer (John Legend/Sting/Train/The Roots)
I’m pleased to say I will be going back to the BBC Studios in Bristol on my return to the UK for a nice chat with my favourite ladies Livvy & Chrissie on Saturday 24th January 2015. No live lounge appearance this time, just a chit chat about my recent New York happenings and the up and coming Special Olympics Events at the Olympic Park. Stay tuned…………
I had the pleasure of my first NYC Radio show appearance on Monday 13th January – A One Hour Special with Presenter David Swirsky from his Midtown Manhattan Studio – It was great fun, listening to good music from Tweedy, Ivy, Dusty Springfield, Eddie Brigati/David Brigati, Gil Scott-Heron and three tracks of mine, including the new single “Feel Like The First Time”.

It’s always an honour for me to work with, and even be associated with top musicians, producers, remixers and here is one of those moments. An amazing dancefloor remix of “Living Our Dream” (Official Anthem for the Special Olympics GB) by DJ Larry Peace – Larry, started his career as “Prince’s personal DJ” and is a renowned American DJ, remixer, producer and artist who specializes in Funky, Soulful House and EDM. This could be a major smash this summer in the clubs – please listen, like and share
I am so excited to finally be able to announce my new album is out on Friday 26th October 2018. Blue Eyed Soul features a blend of soul styles, vibes and influences ranging from the Motownesque “Sweet Soul Music” and the funktified groove of “Night Train” to the Chic-ness of “All Is Fine In New York City”. It will be available to download on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and all major sites, as well as in CD format. The album has ten tracks – eight original tracks and two cover versions – Lynden David Hall’s “Do I Qualify” and Kem’s “Love Calls”. One year ago on this date – I had the amazing privelige to perform at The Special Olympics Opening Ceremony in Bath at the Royal Crescent, performing the official anthem “Living Our Dream”, which I co wrote with Jon Birch. Sharing the stage with me that night was my band The Soul City Foundation,
